As
the popular fantasy adventure Fullmetal Alchemist continues, the filmmakers give
the audience a respite from the intense action with a silly episode about Lt.
Havoc's blind date with Major Armstrong's sister. (Fortunately for both them,
she looks nothing like the burly Major.) As the story begins to build to its climax,
the significance of seemingly unrelated events becomes clearer. Sheska the librarian
shares her research into the death of Gen. Hughes with Winry, and the evidence
suggests a link to the Ishbalan war and the mysterious Col. Juliet Douglas who
may have inadvertently triggered it. Ed and Al reach the ruins of Ishbal and learn
the real story of its destruction from the chimera Meta--before Cols. Mustang
and Kimbley arrive with a small army. Even the city of Liore, where Ed exposed
a false prophet at the beginning of the series, is linked to Ishbal and the quest
for the Philosopher's Stone. Viewers also discover the origins of the Homunculus
Lust, and her links to the Elrics' enemy, Scar.
